Plans fail. People disappoint you. Money gets tight. Doors close. Things happen that you never saw coming.
And sometimes you find yourself wondering:
Is it too late for me?
It isn’t.
If you’re still breathing, you still have time to get better.
Time to change direction.
Time to rebuild.
Time to become stronger.
Time to try again.
Look at yourself in the mirror and remember something: you are still gifted.
What happened to you did not take that away.
The mistakes you made did not take that away.
The opportunities you missed did not take that away.
Your circumstances might change the road you have to travel, but they do not decide where that road has to end.
Despite the circumstances, you can still win.
But there is a question worth answering:
Why do you do what you do?
Because when everything is going well, you don't need much motivation.
It's when the storm arrives that your answer matters.
When life pushes you backwards.
When you get rejected.
When you lose something.
When you're exhausted.
When life drops you to your knees.
Your reason becomes your bridge over troubled water.
That's why you need something bigger than comfort to pull you forward.
A family you're building for.
A person you want to become.
Something you want to contribute.
A promise you made to yourself.
Whatever it is, hold onto it.
Because life will kick your butt occasionally.
That's part of being alive.
But getting knocked down and staying down are two very different things.
Keep your commitment to changing your life.
Not just when you feel motivated.
Especially when you don't.
Get up.
Learn.
Adjust.
Try again.
And while you're doing it, build a life that isn't only about what you can accumulate.
Live a life of contribution.
Help people.
Build things.
Teach what you've learned.
Create opportunities.
Leave people better than you found them.
You don't need a perfect past to create a meaningful future.
You don't need everything figured out.
You just need to keep moving.
So if life has knocked you down recently, remember:
You're breathing.
Which means the story isn't finished.
There is still time.
Get up.
Keep going.
Be a conqueror.
Thanks for taking a moment to slow down with me this week.
